1991 Impel Mega Metal trading cards are ready to rock. Featuring several big rock acts from the time (and the big hair that went along with it), the set covers both bands and their musicians.
The base set is 150 cards and makes up the vast majority of the checklist. Bon Jovi, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Skid Row are among the headliners.
Fronts for most cards have either a promo shot or a concert photo. For Iron Maiden, it’s the iconic artwork from the band’s albums. The band name runs in a banner across the top and the skull-accented Mega Metal logo is on the bottom. All this comes with a black outer border, making for an appropriate rock motif.
Backs have fairly extensive bios, especially when you group them together as a larger whole. Facts and trivia are available for both the featured acts as well as some that are more personable and dedicated to one musician.
Holograms are the lone chase set. Seven are available with one landing approximately every five packs. That means most boxes should have a full set if duplicates don’t get in the way.
1991 Impel Mega Metal carries a similar format and feel as 1991 Brockum RockCards, although with different acts. The Brockum set is almost twice as large with a 288-card base set.
