1995 Fleer Ultra X-Men All-Chromium trading cards change things up a little from previous mutant-themed Ultra releases. It’s right there in the name, too. While it still maintains a premium look and feel, this time it’s all done with chrome.
1995 Fleer Ultra X-Men All-Chromium Checklist Details
The base set consists of 100 total cards. Most of that is dedicated to specific characters. There are a couple of subsets, though. Ten Wolverine Timeline cards look back on the history and origin of the Marvel’s most popular mutant. Haunted Mansion follows, casting characters in Halloween costumes.
Original art is found throughout the set. Here, it’s all done by Adam, Andy and Joe Kubert. The three family members take a CG approach as well, giving things a distinct look.
Every card except the checklist at the end has a Gold Signature parallel. Landing one per pack, these have a facsimile autograph on the front of the card’s artist done with gold foil.
Two additional insert sets are on the 1995 Fleer Ultra X-Men All-Chromium checklist.
Alternate X is a 20-card set that showcases different versions of ten characters. These use embossed foil.
Lethal Weapons has nine cards, each with one of the most dangerous mutants. The HoloFlash stock on these is still shiny, but a bit of a departure from the base set.
For collectors looking for something a little cheaper, the artwork from the base set was used again for the retail-only 1996 Fleer X-Men set. This release has no inserts, though.
