1990 Comic Images Todd McFarlane Series 2 provides more evidence as to the artist’s popularity and impact on comics during one of its biggest boom periods. Not a lot of creators got the spotlight in one set let alone two. Like the first set, there’s really not a lot of content in the product. Also like the first set, there’s not a ton of it out there — especially when you compare it to the juggernaut 1990 Impel Marvel Universe set.

Just 45 cards make up the base set. Being a set focusing on Todd McFarlane, it shouldn’t be a surprise that his art is on display throughout. Fronts have a shaped white frame with a cropped comic image. The only text is a short caption and a line of copyright info.
Spider-Man, his friends or his enemies are on virtually every cards this time around. The first set has more of a mix of characters and corners of the Marvel world.
Backs don’t have much else. Each acts as a puzzle piece for a piece of art with Spider-Man and the Hulk. Backs don’t have any additional backstories or background info on McFarlane or his work.
The only other card in the product is a header that’s included in every pack.
