Everybody has Shaquille O’Neal basketball cards. Shaquille O’Neal cards from one of his most memorable acting roles (note, the words “good” or “best” were not mentioned) are another story. 1996 Donruss Kazaam trading cards are strange, fun and actually pretty tough to find.
1996 Donruss Kazaam Checklist Details
The base set makes up the majority of the release. Consisting of 90 cards, it breaks down into a few different sections. The first 63 take the traditional approach, recapping the film — and providing lots of fun Shaquille O’Neal cards in the process. Joining them are nine Puzzle cards, nine Static Cling Stickers and a pair of checklists. For those who like some rhymes, seven Wise Crackin’ Rappin’ cards were a sign of Shaq’s musical times.
Nine Embossed Foil cards are the only inserts in the product. Landing 1:9 packs, they add a little bit of flash and texture. It also means more Shaq goofiness.
For whatever reason, Kazaam trading cards are extremely tough to find today. The promo is what’s available most frequently. But boxes, sets and even singles don’t pop up in any quantity very often.
This isn’t the only Shaquille O’Neal film to get the trading card treatment. There’s also 1994 SkyBox Blue Chips based on the basketball movie starring O’Neal, Anfernee Hardaway and Nick Nolte.
