Despite decades on the air, there aren’t a lot of Sesame Street trading cards out there. However, there is one major exception. 1992 Idolmaker Sesame Street is a full release that showcases many of the show’s main stars as well as a healthy dose of cute fluffy animals.

1992 Idolmaker Sesame Street Box

Featuring 100 cards plus a pair of checklists, the set is broken down into a handful of sections. Leading off are lessons in numbers and letters. From there, Ernie, Bert, Big Bird and the gang head off on a variety of adventures to the circus, the farm, the Old West, a zoo and a safari.

1992 Idolmaker Sesame Street 52

It’ a simple set but there’s a lot of charm in it. Part of that is the simple presence of the Sesame Street gang. But once you add the situations they’re in, whether they’re panning for gold, helping out around the farm, trying to feed giraffes or just hanging out and counting everyday objects.

Not overly tough to track down, 1992 Idolmaker Sesame Street boxes and sets are relatively affordable. Sometimes singles can go for a surprising amount as casual collectors might simply find something that speaks to them and decide it’s worth a couple of dollars.
